Starting from October 2024, First Bank introduces instant payments in lei to its portfolio of payment services!
What are instant payments?
- There are interbank transfers in lei made on the territory of Romania, from the paying account to the beneficiary account, located at another bank or vice versa, in a maximum of 10 seconds, 24/7;
- They are available for private individuals and legal entities clients;
- They are available for transfers between clients of banks that have joined the Instant Payments system, found in the list available here
- Transfers can be initiated from Internet & Mobile Banking;
- Maximum value: 49,999.99 lei/Instant Payment. The effective limit for instant transfers can be changed by the bank and it will be communicated in the Internet & Mobile Banking applications;

Useful information:
The introduction of the new instant payment service brings changes in the following documents:
- Fees and Commissions for Private Individuals valid from October 2024 ;
- Added information about the Transfond commission, the provider of the technical solution that makes instant payments possible, the commission for this type of payment, owed by the client, remains unchanged;
- Fees and Commissions for Legal Entities valid from October 2024;
- the term Transfond instant payment commission was introduced and its value of 0.45 lei, compared to the SENT commission in the amount of 0.51 lei.
